The Information Center aims to fulfill the various needs of citizens and foreign residents living in the Kansai area by collecting and distributing information on multiculturalism, international understanding and international cooperation and overseas exchange, and cooperating with ward offices and related institutes to support foreign residents. Consultation services are available in 7 languages


Information Counter

The Information Counter provides information for citizens to become involved in international exchange activities, information to enable foreign residents to live comfortably in Japan and guidance in foreign languages with cooperation of volunteers. The services “Information Plaza Osaka” and “Counseling for Foreign Residents” provided by Osaka City are also available to assist foreign residents living in Kansai through cooperation with ward offices and related institutes

Library and Information on International Exchange

An extensive reference library containing materials and information regarding multiculturalism, international understanding and international cooperation, as well as overseas exchange is available. Information for foreigners regarding life in Japan, Japanese language and culture, promotion of international understanding for citizens and the international exchange activities of volunteers, NGOs and NPOs is also available.The Library corner is stocked with books on history,culture and languages from across the world.There is also an extensive reference section overseas journals and newspapers.

Information stand offers various information about International House, Osaka and introduces activities of i-house volunteers.

Cultural Exchange Space for i-house volunteers

Room for i-house volunteer activities such as “Tanoshii Nihongo (Japanese Lesson)," “i-house Culture Salon” and “International Picture Book Readings AI-AI." It can also be used for the preparation and meetings for the activities.
