Disaster Preparation Lesson for Foreigners at Abeno Tasukaru / Municipal Lifelong Learning Center

~ Let’s learn together with Japanese residents about Disaster Prevention! ~

What would you do in the event of a disaster such as an earthquake? It is said that a major earthquake will likely occur in Osaka in the future. Participants, both foreigners and Japanese, will learn about disaster preparation and discuss what to do, where to go, and what to prepare in advance in case of earthquakes, tsunamis, fires, and other emergencies.
On the day of the event, there will be people who speak English, Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese as interpreters.

Saturday, July 5th 1:00 p.m. (meeting) ~ 4:30 p.m.

Osaka Municipal Abeno Disaster Prevention Center (Abeno Tasukaru)

(About 5 minutes walk from No. 2 or 7 Exit of “Abeno” Station, Tanimachi Line, Osaka Metro)

Programs:

① Osaka Municipal Abeno Disaster Prevention Center (Abeno Tasukaru) tour (from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
[Target] Foreign participants only (Meeting at 1:00 p.m.)
(1) Experience a magnitude 7 earthquake
(2) Learn how to evacuate from a tsunami
(3) Experience a town covered in debris
(4) Witness disasters on a giant screen, and more

② Workshop (2:45 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.)
(Moving to Abeno Municipal Lifelong Learning Center and joining Japanese participants)
