We are looking for foreigners to introduce the culture of their country!
Osaka International House Foundation will be holding an event on Saturday, August 3rd where foreigners can interact while introducing local culture. Introduce your country’s culture such as language, food, games, dance, music and drama, etc.
The volunteers will support your program!
For instance:
・Foreign language classes (Teach your mother-tongue to others etc.)
・Introduction of dance, yoga, traditional local culture or clothes, etc.
・Introduction of children’s games, ethnic songs, nursery songs, or story telling from picture books
・Free tasting of local cuisine and drinks
This is a great opportunity to make friends, as you’ll interact not only with other participants but also with volunteers and people from other countries. We look forward to receiving applications from foreign residents.
■Event overview
・Date: Saturday, August 1st, 2026 12: 00-16:15 (expected)
・Venue: Tennoji Ward Community Center (7-5-7 Ikutama-dera-cho, Tennoji-ku, Osaka City)
■Remuneration / Payment:
・For each Workshop Seminar (WS) Program: 5,600 yen (tax included)
→ Approximately 45 minute-program such as “Introducing My Culture”.
・For each Performance (PF) program: 5,600 yen (tax included)
→ Limited to performances of approximately 15 minutes ※ Only performances such as dance or traditional music.
・In case of many entries, we may not be able to accommodate your request.
・Material costs will be paid. (4,000 yen (tax included))
■Qualification for applying
・Applicants whose purpose is cultural exchange.
・People who can communicate in Japanese.
・Those who can participate in preliminary meetings and rehearsals.
・Applicants who will permit the usage of their names, pictures, and videos on public relations pamphlets and websites.
・Those who can participate not only on the day of the event but also the orientation-session listed below.
■Orientation & matching with volunteer supporters
・Orientation for performers: Saturday, May 23rd, 13: 30 – 15: 00
(※ Attendance is mandatory for first-time performers)
・Venue: International House, Osaka 2nd floor Conference Rooms
・Volunteer Orientation Session & Matching: Saturday, June 6th, 14: 30 – 16: 00
(※ Attendance is mandatory for performers who have not yet been matched with a Japanese volunteer-supporter)
・Venue: Semba Center Building No. 2, B1 Floor, Meeting Room (2-3-6 Senba Chuo, Chuo-ku, Osaka City)
