What is the procedure for moving to another municipality?

Please submit the Tenshutsu Todoke (notification of moving out) to the office of the municipality/ward from which you are moving out.

The person who will move or the head of the household

【When to notify】
Before actually moving out

【You will need】
(1) Personal seal (not necessary if the notification is signed in person)
(2) Identification document (Residence Card, driver’s licence, passport, MyNumber card, etc.)
(3) Certificate of National Health Insurance (if applicable)
※ Once the notification is received, the Tenshutsu Shomeisho (certificate of moving out) will be issued.  This certificate should be presented to the municipality/ward of your new address.

If you are moving from one ward to another in Osaka City, it is not necessary to submit the notification of moving out.  (Simply submit the Tennyu Todoke, that is, the notification of moving in, to the ward office of your new address.)
