In Osaka City, the Child Allowance is provided to individuals raising children up to the end of their third year of junior high school (specifically, until March 31 following their 15th birthday), starting with the first child.

*Payments begin the month following the application. However, even if you are eligible to receive the Child Allowance, you cannot receive any payment money unless you submit an application. If you believe you are eligible, please complete the necessary application procedures as soon as possible. Additionally, if you give birth to additional children, you must apply for an increase in the allowance amount.

【Allowance Amounts】 (Osaka City)

・Ages 0 to 3: 15,000 yen per month

・Age 3 through elementary school: 10,000 yen per month (15,000 yen for the third child and any subsequent children)

・Junior high school students: 10,000 yen per month

Note: If the applicant’s income meets or exceeds the “income limit” (but is still below the “income ceiling”), a special benefit of 5,000 yen per month per child is paid, regardless of the child’s age group. If your income meets or exceeds the “income ceiling”, you will not be eligible to receive any Child Allowance payments.
